Volkswagen
Volkswagen (German 'people's car') is an automobile manufacturer based in Wolfsburg, Germany. Part of the Volkswagen Group, the largest carmaker in Europe.
The Volkswagen Group, headquartered in Wolfsburg, is one of the leading automotive groups in the world. In 2009 the group increased the number of vehicle deliveries to customers to 6.34 million cars (2008: 6.26 million). The Group consists of nine brands from seven European countries: Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Scania. The Group operates 61 production plants in fifteen European countries and more than six countries in the Americas, Asia and Africa, having around the world with about 370,000 employees producing about 26,000 vehicles or engaged in services related to the Group's products. The Volkswagen Group sells its vehicles in over 153 countries.
The group has 45 factories in 19 countries and operates in 150 countries with its own commercial organizations
De momento, Volkswagen anunció que comprará un 19,9 por ciento de participaciones en la japonesa Suzuki por un monto de 1.700 millones de euros (unos 2.500 millones de dólares), con lo que fortalecerá notablemente su posición en Asia.
